Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017: El Tira y Afloja Masculino Vs Femenino

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017: Muchas, muchas capas

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017: El Glamour De Los 80

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017: Un Montón De Pliegues

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017:  Mucho Terciopelo

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017: Un Montón De Cuero

Tendencias De Moda 2016 2017: Mechones De Piel Colorida

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Embroidery & Lace

#11: Use of Metallic Shine

The metallic looks were all the rage on the catwalks as we noticed skirts, dresses, tops, pants and everything in between appearing in silver, gold, copper and more. It was a look we easily fell in love with, the variety of shiny metallic details all the more attractive when appearing as art on transparent gowns such as that seen on the Alexander McQueenrunway, or as rather lovely prints on knee-length coats appearing at Peter Pilotto.

Decorative tinsel made many of the pieces seen on the runways look especially shiny with their metallic sheen, from golden coats at Dolce & Gabbana to silver skirts at Fendi, Adam Selman and Marco de Vincenzo giving us even more in that style. The daytime shimmer from the metallic shine was to be commended, bringing some spice to the wardrobes, including with those Felder Felder disco trousers. House of Holland’s metallic sheen was definitely to be commended though as bolts of cobalt appeared on the runways.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Metallic Shine

#12: Around the Knees Midi Hems

Nearly every designer went for the modest but sexy midi hems this year, generally stopping just over the knees but sometimes just under as well. These hemlines serve to elongate the figure, flattering most when just above, so that both legs and chest region effectively look longer, giving the lady wearing the look the illusion of being taller.

Some of the looks were much warmer in material, such as that seen at Herve Leger, while Prabal Gurung’s drop a few inches below the knees in the split panel dress woven together with lace. The skirts often appear below the knees in any case, adding to the professional appeal of each ensemble, while detracting from the sexiness of legs to focus attentions elsewhere.

High skirts at Altuzarra in fuchsia coloring only add to the beauty of the stylish trend. Whether we are talking Calvin Klein or Michael Kors, the longer skirts are certainly lovely, especially when they appear with a small show of skin.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Midi Hems

#13: Intriguing Pantsuits

Since the masculine meets feminine and vice versa today, we can easily see quite a few pantsuits among the fall 2016 fashion trends that automatically have us wanting to update our work wardrobe, but with something more hip and cool. That might include pinstripe pantsuits tucked into chunky boots and with oversized sweaters topping them for good effect, as per DKNY, or looking especially amazing with plaid checks on an especially manly Ralph Lauren ensemble. Going back to DKNY though, have you seen the open-midriff buck-side pinstripe pantsuits that are very masculine?

Pantsuits are a common sight it appears and so is crazy as we notice bright glitter and amethyst hues come together at Ashish. The power suits look great for this season and have all been given an interesting upgrade, from stripes down the body in coral red, against a black background to Taser prints on the whole of the suits, crazy star spangled designs all over, including on a matching hat and in a more modernistic approach of not wearing anything under the blazer but a sequined bra.

Some of the power suits, such as that seen on the Xiao Li runway looked pretty awesome with the wide pants and artistic accessories, the shoes underneath speaking of as much stylish comfort as the rest of the clothing on display.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Pantsuits

#14: Pinstripe Suits

If you love the more intriguing pantsuits, you are going to go gaga over the pinstripes that anyone can wear for it looks amazing no matter the body underneath. And it does not need to be a pantsuit either, appearing with a dress under the blazer at Trussardi.

Some have the sexier plunging neckline effects, such as at Max Mara and Calvin Klein, whileTibi likes to keep it sportier in its professionalism, and things can never get boring with Sies Marjan fashions, particularly when we see the tall and slim looks it brings to the table. Pinstripes are the cool new looks and the suits with the pinstripes look amazingly good, particularly when the pants are as wide legged as these ladies show them off.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Pinstripe Suits

#15: Cropped Pants and Culottes

There are different lengths to the cropped pants, but generally they fall below the knees and above the ankles and are not always flared at the ends like the rather lovable culottes that we thought would be leaving the fashion scene a few seasons back. On the contrary, those intriguing pants have stayed on and brought with them more cropped feels, but they are still the ones reigning supreme.

We see some velour culottes at Lacoste and some lovely checked cutoffs reaching mid-calf at Michael Kors. Cropped pants in grey pinstripes look pretty awesome at Monse actually, complete with fur stoles that come with a fringed bit of detailing.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Culottes

#16: Sleepwear as Outerwear

Remember the intriguing new trend of slips and pajamas worn as outerwear from the spring and summer seasons? Yes, we get to see a whole lot more of it, though a bit more refined at times, on the fall and winter runways as well, with some like those from Narciso Rodriguez appearing with asymmetrical skirts. DKNY comes in with some red lacing, thin strapping and long skirts, the neckline plunging so low and wide, we wonder if it will be showing off the chest underneath fully if we try to wear it without the translucent turtleneck underneath.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Pajama Dressing

#17: Pussy-Bow Tops and Dresses

Pussy-bow necklines make probably the most sophisticated fashion trend for fall 2016, appearing on tops and flowing dresses and making our hearts melt. They give kind of a schoolgirl and Victorian allure to the designs, while also bearing a high dose of modesty. Pussy-bow blouses and dresses were spotted in abundance at Roksanda, Philosophy, Peter Pilotto, Temperley London, Osman, Marc Jacobs and others.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Pussy-Bow

#18: Versatile Denim

We can hardly do without denim in any season, since it has managed to become the go-to fabric for building effortlessly chic looks without trying too hard. We love sporting short denim shorts and rompers in summer, and our wardrobe features at least two pairs of jeans and a jean jacket for the chilly autumn days. Many a designer capitalized on the denim trend this fall, among them Miu Miu playing with youthful patchwork used on the denim jackets, Ralph Lauren adding glam motifs to cowgirl bell-bottom jeans andBlumarine betting on the minimalist denim culottes with raw hems.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Denim

#19: Super Long Coats

We have seen coats in different materials, from colorful faux furs to leather and suede, but something we noticed quite a bit was the length of each of these pieces and how that appealed to us who live in colder climates. The Row, for example has some gorgeous brown leather coats. The coats appear in fuchsia at Public School’s display of designs, looking rather gorgeous as worn by models with a bit more meat on their bodies.

We also see military-style really long coats appear, such as the khaki at Topshop Unique, the red edged at Burberry, the wraparound styles with the furry edges as per Christopher Kane, and the truly English appeal of the Mulberry designs. The best, we have to say, can be found on the Roberto Cavalli looks, where the coats are embellished with rich embroidery.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Long Coats

#20: Shiny Studs and Sequins

Shiny looks are all the rage and we cannot get enough of them. There were sequins in 2015, more in the spring of 2016, and now as we head into fall they seem to be following us, this time in even brighter colors. The shine is impeccable and we are enjoying the mini dresses covered in it, showing off floral prints, the spaghetti strapped pieces appearing at Ashish with Gold Digger emblazoned across the chest (this would make a great Halloween costume, complete with the wig), and the stud-covered Burberry looks that we can barely get enough of.

Black sequins brought in the night sky at Simone Rocha, adding a classical touch to the already classic cuts, but it was Topshop Unique that really accentuated the whole sequins with artistic panting looks with calf-length slip dresses, bodies elongated in the process. Glittering effects also appear due to tinsel and paillettes, seen profusely on Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Versace, and more.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Sequins

#21: Perfectly Plunging Necklines

The 2015 top trends of plunging necklines continue into 2016, right into the fall and winter fashions and we think they might keep on popping up for a few seasons yet since it has not fully caught on with the public. However, when you have plunging necklines paired with shirts or high-necked tops underneath with long sleeves and body contouring materials, it makes it all the more appealing since there is less skin exposed to the elements. In this case, Prabal Gurung is a great example with its dresses over Chinese collar shirts.

Plunging necks with nothing underneath are seen at Roberto Cavalli, the blouses heavily accented with rich embroideries as well for additional style. The necklines on pinstripe suits look pretty awesome as well, particularly as seen at Max Mara, Trussardi and Calvin Klein, the latter really bringing down the plunge to the top of the abdomen.

Sometimes the pieces were kept together with metal rings and details, as per the lovely shimmering black dress found on the Dion Lee runway. As for showing a whole lot of chest, we noticed some gorgeous looks with a huge amount of sequins and some really fluffy coats right on the Preen runway.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Plunging Necklines

#22: Focusing on Asymmetrical Shoulders

We have seen everything from single shoulder dresses to open shoulder sweaters, the former appearing lovingly on Herve Leger, while the latter spotted at Rag & Bone. The focus on the shoulders has really sparked a love for playing with the décolletage as well, but that falls under a category of its own. Lowering the top to show off a little shoulder or playing with single shoulder designs gives the looks a flirtier, more feminine edge, made to counteract the often-masculine accents to the outfits on the catwalks.

Double straps over a single shoulder appeared at David Koma as well, and that look really brought sexy back, especially since it only added to the outline of the décolletage. The single-shoulder ‘80s look somehow has made it back in and the combination with loads of ruffles is quite intriguing to say the least, appearing on the likes of Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent, Lanvin and Moschino. Single-arm tops appear aplenty on so many different shows that it becomes rather impossible to keep track.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Asymmetrical Shoulders

#23: Showing off the Shoulders

During the spring and summer collection presentations, the top trend was the open shoulders indeed. Now, it appears that we have moved into the fall and still manage to find a good amount of fully bare shoulders, presenting define décolletage. At Opening Ceremony, we can certainly enjoy the look with outfits that include comfortable sweaters tucked into high-waist pants falling to the ankles and looking pretty stylish if you ask us.

Open shoulders are seen with strapless pieces as well, really bringing the focus up to the indentations and strength of the neck, Victoria Beckham playing up on the creations. David Koma loved to show off this part of the body as well, opening up the shoulders and sending over two thin strips on one side, tucking in the body hugging material for a more defined silhouette.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Bare Shoulders

#24: Shearling Coats

Although lace and transparency are perfect for channeling a high dose of elegance and femininity, you definitely want to feel warm and comfy during those cold days and it’s here that chunky shearling coats come in handy. Short or long, shaggy or more elegant, shearling coats appeared at almost each runway show from New York to Longon, Milan and Paris, forming one of the most wearable and covetable fall/ winter 2016-2017 fashion trends. You can check out the collections of Tory Burch, Altuzarra, Maison Margiela,Balenciaga, Cedric Charlier, Carven and others to find some to-die-for shearling coats for winter.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Shearling Coats

#25: Slits up the Thighs

Remember the rather high slits seen a few seasons back that really made us drool from the sexiness of it all? They make one of the top fall 2016 fashion trends, looking just as alluring in the manner by which they appear before us. Some slits can be seen on skirts worn under gorgeous coats at Calvin Klein, while the schoolgirl jumpers comes with some form of a slit on the below-the-knee midi hem at Jason Wu.

If you want some extremely delectable velvety goodness in this style, adding in slits to the side and off-the-shoulder looks on one side, the goddess appearance can be found flouncing down the catwalk at Monse.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: High Slits

#26: Glossy Patent Leather & Vinyl

While leather is huge for fall, when you add glossy, high-shine finishes to it, you get a sexier, more fetish-chic version of the trend that’s definitely not for those shying away from extra attention. Wet-effect patent leather and vinyl comes in both vibrant shades and more relaxed tones, like black, brown or pastel colors, appearing in the collections of Lacoste,Kenzo, Nina Ricci, Valentino, Iceberg, Lanvin and others.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Patent Leather/ Vinyl

#27: Queues of Quilts on Warm Puffer Jackets

One of the biggest fall 2016 fashion trends is the use of quilts on the clothing, namely on warm and cozy puffer jackets. It is an old-timer stitch that looks warm and definitely has a tendency to keep warm as well, in whatever it appears on. The diamond stitching is back though not as strongly as we had hoped, and we can easily see the look appearing onChanel coats and dresses, bombers at Haider Ackermann, and right throughout Sacai,Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Stella McCartney enjoying nurturing a nearly dead fashion trend back to life.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Quilted Puffer Jackets

#28: Matching Outerwear

It is interesting how there have been a lot of matching pieces seen of late, the spring season giving us the look in one form while the winter 2016-2017 fashion trends bringing it in a little differently, the matching pieces suddenly becoming wholly different separates in a single ensemble. This includes the chained gorgeous grey Herve Leger creations.

Matching looks continue at Mulberry with the military coats in a similar color and material as the center pressed ankle-crop trousers worn underneath, giving it a masculine but seamless effect. Versace’s mini dress came with a matching coat in colorful fur actually as well, only adding to this particular trend’s popularity among the masses. We can certainly expect to see coats and dresses sold together now, for it will only make a fashionable look appear even more in style for the fall months.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Matching Outerwear to Clothing

#29: High Waists and Ankle Crops

There is a good amount of pants cropped higher than the ankles, but there are just as many, if not more, cropped right there, neither above nor below. Add in the high waists that add length to the legs and you have a design that is rather perfect for the fall but might lead to frozen ankles come the chillier days. Opening Ceremony is only one of the many designers to take this particular combination to heart and present us with an array of choices to pick from. At Mulberry, there are a few trends that can be attached to the looks, from the ankle crops with high waists to the military garments that include matching coats and trousers.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: High-Waist Ankle-Cropped Pants

#30: Tight Lacing Accents

While the looks were not quite on corsets most of the time, the laced up detailing was huge on the runway, appearing all over for purely decorative purposes. Often they gave off a dominatrix look, while sometimes they appeared on loose enough outfits not to infer the tightening of the waist, even subconsciously. It spiced things up quite neatly, appearing on everything from leather Proenza Schouler jackets to tops featuring the design along shoulders and the naval, left loose enough to just appear as if it is holding the whole thing in place.

At Fenty Puma it took on a gothic edge, while DKNY featured red lacing over black coats and slip dresses worn over turtleneck tops. Tome, however, came in with the corseted looks worn over a few layers, including a shiny turtleneck under a silky red shirt.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Lacing Accents

#31: Cut-Outs Showing Skin

There is a mini trend happening for fall that includes slits in the dresses and tops, becoming the next big thing and perhaps meant to be focused upon more come spring 2017. We notice that a few designers have played with this concept here for fall 2016, including Victoria Beckham who literally made a strapless dress out of wraparound tartan, the abdomen slashed into and left with some interesting slots placed there.

There is an emphasis on mummy slits at Proenza Schouler, the banded bandage top skimming the body beautifully and turning into a high-neck, long-sleeve tunic instead. Lots of slits and slots appear on the Michael Kors runway, especially with the knee-length dresses that come with the strip-panel edges that really have the hems fluttering with every step.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Cut-Outs

#32: Wraparound Designs

Dresses, coats, tops, skirts and everything on the runways somehow look better when it looks like a tartan has been wrapped around the body, such as that strapless piece by Victoria Beckham with the slots across the chest and the asymmetrical skirts due to the wraparound nature. Wraparound coats are seen at Burberry in droves, looking pretty awesome in their military might, while the fur trimmed Christopher Kane versions match with the furry shoes, keeping warm against the cold season chill. Wraparound asymmetrical hemmed leather skirts also appear at Mulberry and they make pleats look truly great.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Wraparound Designs

#33: Military Style

The emphasis on military seems to be appearing a lot lately, though the fall 2016 fashion trends give themselves up to the coats, appearing in khaki pieces that cover what’s underneath, adorned in military details. It can come in a simpler, longer look as per Topshop Unique, with red edges as per Burberry, furry accents as seen on Christopher Kane, matching with the pants worn underneath such as that seen at Mulberry.

When it comes to military fashion, there is also the navy to consider, and that means those nautical overcoats certainly come in handy, the calf- and ankle-length pieces definitely something you might want to invest in for the colder seasons. Everyone from Prada to John Galliano, Tommy Hilfiger to Coach and RED Valentino brought in the navy overcoats.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Military Style

#34: Clothing with Quotes

When designers want to put in something different without resorting to patterns and prints, words are a good way to express the theme and emotions of the collection is meant to incite. The quotes are clever, interesting and meant to draw your eyes over to the newest of fall 2016 fashion trends. This is something that was taken to heart by DKNY especially, with “Dazed Kids” and “Don’s Knock” written out, among other interesting little inscriptions, followed by a “New York” ending.

Alexander Wang appears with words inscribed on fuzzy sweater dresses, combined with similar wordings appearing on the pantyhose. Houses like Rag & Bone have their own brand names appear on the oversized sweaters, while Lacoste gives light to its love for crocodiles.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Clothing with Messages

#35: Large and Accented Collars

Whether the collars took on the ruffles, the lapels, the ribbons or more, they were a huge part of the fall/ winter 2016 fashion trends, appearing all over the place to show off more from the closed off chests. Bows, fur, leather, and contrasting colors all made the collars great. Burberry, for example, came in with large lapels in dual contrasting tones of aqua and white. At JW Anderson, it was more of a cape that the collar turned into, balancing out the funky skirts and color details.

Tufts of fur made for a rounded collar that kind of had a bib effect at Roksanda, while they made for interesting lapels at Topshop Unique. If you want accented collars, you really should check out the gold encrusted ones spotted at Dolce & Gabbana though; those are divine!

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Large Collars

#36: Pierced Clothing

There are piercings for your bodies and there are piercings for your clothing. For the fall and winter seasons of this year, it appears some designers took to the latter and gave us some simple looks that feature anything from weightless rings to metal pins to some massive chains. Dion Lee, for example, went with the first look and used a pierced ring to keep the lapels of the faux vest in place on the creamy white tunic he put out onto stage.

Michael Kors opted for the hoops as well, this time in place of lacing, the upside down T-shape really bringing out the beauty of the dresses sent onto stage while showing off some skin as well. That one was simply divine. At Herve Leger the designs were delectable and the chain piercing through was reminiscing of the lacing, while still having that edgy rebellious feel to it.

#37: 1970s Meet Modern Cowgirl

While the 1970s looks have more or less disappeared from the runways, we still can see a few pieces here and there that give us the illusion of looking at a modern cowgirl, leather jackets, pleated skirts and lace up boots and all, fringe additions such as that seen atFausto Puglisi only making it less rock and roll and more Western style. The Western look took on a whole new meaning with boots to finish it off as well at Fausto Puglisi, and it was clear that the heavy references to cowgirls from time to time would only be accented with the accessories that made them statement pieces.

Leather fringed skirts were totally Western meet modern when combined with some gorgeous sweaters cinched at the waist with a silver buckle belt at Fay, while it became clear that the idea was the Western chic that motivated Just Cavalli. Plus, nothing can be sexier than those silver studded skinny leather pants by Marcelo Burlon in Milan.

#38: Frills & Ruffles Aplenty

If there was one mini trend that was seen quite a bit of, we have to say it was the ruffles, the use of which extended throughout, from sweaters to dresses and even shoes, adding accents to the sleeves and collars and across the center of the chest. It was fun to see them really, and a few designers really took the use of this style to a whole new level. Fendi’s skirts, tops and shoes all had ruffles, for example. Prada’s sleeves were all ruffled up.

And then there was MSGM with lots of ruffled layers and lovely textures that only accented the red, orange and pink color highlights. Gucci came in with multiple ruffles on the sleeves, Giamba with diagonal ruffled effects, and so many others enjoying the frills and ruffles that appeared on every part of the outfit. It is certainly a trend that we can easily get into for it adds some adorable to the sexy.

#39: Cozy Capelets

One look that really is adorable as well as keeps you warm is the use of capelets on the clothing that makes one of the top fall/ winter 2016-2017 fashion trends. It can be worn with long sleeves or short, on tops or dresses and even bodysuits as see at Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. Detacher has a more daily use presented, while Brandon Maxwell brings the focus to evening and little black dresses, something Christian Dior also capitalizes on. There are capelets over jackets at Burberry for a military appeal, while MSGM just makes things funky.

#40: Statement Capes

While the cozier capelets are almost barely there, the statement capes make sure they scream loud and clear that they exist and really are the main reason the dresses look so good. The cape trend in general does not seem to have any intention of going away anytime soon, but it is becoming a lot more experimental. Embroidered details and some sparkles are only the start of it all.

There are the classics in chic camel hues as seen at Gareth Pugh, while floor-length designs in a more glamorous shimmer such as that by Alexander McQueen are definitely on our must-have list.

There is a caped look to suit everyone’s fashion style and the designers for the fall really made sure to give us as wide an array of looks as possible. Bright embroideries took over the Erdem pieces created on translucent materials, slits for the arms appeared at Temperley, military was all the rage at Mulberry, and Roksanda made it look too simple for our tastes.

#41: Transparency in Everything

While the fall season does try to cover up a little more than usual, the 2015 trend of transparent looks comes in strongly once again, revealing the beauty of the bodies underneath, often the crotch region covered by black panties that ride to the hips. It can be lace accented with guipure as per Mulberry, or it can have shiny artistry throughout, with the body left entirely bare and shaven underneath such as the incredible gowns spotted at Alexander McQueen.

We even see transparent tank tops layered under some bulkier, flashier pieces, such as the Moschino effect we enjoyed, tucked into leather skirts. Yummy glitter accented transparent gowns also appear at Roberto Cavalli and it is plain delectable. Even more intriguing is the use of embroidery to create such lovely designs as those found on the Alberta Ferretti runways in Milan.

#42: Everything Extra-Long Sleeves

It is for the fall and winter months, so seeing this trend is not exactly something that is unexpected. After all, we would be more surprised than not if it were sleeveless we were seeing near 100% of the time. As such, the long sleeves do fall in this trend report but are nothing special unto themselves, unless we decide to pair them with gorgeous coats, lovely turtlenecks, intriguing blazers, sweater style dresses and so much more.

However, the extra-long sleeves are the ones that capture our attention best, from the Roksanda purple toned coats to the Marques’ Almeida letter jackets that appear about 10 sizes too large for the model; Mulberry has some really long sleeves on multiple layers, while AF Vandevorst scares us to hell with the wraparound belt making a mask over the face, matching with the cord knit sweater dress in red with extra-long sleeves.

#43: Renaissance Women

With the Victorian detailing so very new, it makes sense to see a broadening of the century clothing and a better perspective given to the modernization of all that was rather lovely in times of old. As such, seeing the Renaissance looks take on a 21st century feel and mold better to the bodies only makes things more interesting, with Gucci coming in with brighter colors and combination materials, Vanessa Seward loving the velvet and embroidery, Chanel giving us fluttering organza and showing off some skin, Ellery ensuring the use of corsets and leaving the sleeves super long, while Lanvin brings in a few different styles and creates a Renaissance look of its own.

#44: Après Ski Oversized Sweaters

There is something to be said about the Après-Ski-style oversized sweater that often also serves as a sweater dress throughout the fall 2016 Fashion Weeks. We see one such look atChloe, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang, while another with an added asymmetrical skirt underneath and the appearance of double the turtlenecks at Damir Doma, with metal detailing. With the too long sleeves a very important part of the fall fashion, the exaggerated volumes simply do not end there.

The sweaters are bulky and big with lots of warmth and comfort to give. It is just perfect for the winter months ahead, even if we are still looking forwards to warmer days. From the plunging necklines seen at Emilio Pucci to the colorful stripes witnessed at Etro, the tucked in cord knits of Fendi and the extra-long hairy looks seen at Jil Sander, oversized sweaters make one of the best fall 2016 fashion trends we’ll embrace.

Long sleeves and short hems? That is the specialty of Missoni, while MSGM heartily explored the floral print, off-the-shoulder extra layered look. And then of course there is the whole black and white maze of a sweater from Sportmax where it is unsure if the design has switched into becoming a dress, all the while the Trussardi looks serving as great long sleeved cord knit vests.

#45: Cool-Girl Biker Jackets

Biker jackets have become a fashion classic that almost each cool girl has in her wardrobe. It’s a versatile piece you can wear with feminine dresses or casual jeans and we definitely need this trend come the colder days. Marc Jacobs teamed a leather biker jacket with fur trimmings with a floor-length see-through evening dress, Diesel Black Gold revamped the classic oversized biker jacket with sparkling sequins, Valentino played with studs, while Fausto Puglisi added interesting patterns and pearl decorations to its white biker jackets. Biker jackets were also spotted at Etro, Gucci, Alexander McQueen and many others.

#46: Sporty with a Touch of Hoodie

The sportier, youthful looks that remind us of college kids also came into effect on the Fashion Week runways, from the workout pants that show off the curves seen at Topshop Unique to the hoodies that rocked the luxury setting, giving us something to snuggle with as we enjoyed the options brought to us by Anthony Vaccarello in leather, Alexander Wang in truly sporty, Lacoste in extra-long sleeved sweater dress, and Vetements, among others in the more common styles.

#47: New Takes on Fringe

While the ‘80s lead the season, we still can enjoy Seventies fashions too, and this means lots of fringe appearing on pants, dresses and accessories. In some cases, fringe takes a more delicate and feminine turn appearing all over the dresses and adding a roaring Twenties spin to them. Valentino and Marchesa are some of the houses that give preference to exactly this type of fringing, while Ralph Lauren and Fay bring back the typical ‘70s fringe appearing on pants and skirts. Fringe is more like chic tassels in case ofBalmain, being used as lavish decorative elements to adorn those opulent mini dresses.

#48: Lingerie by Day

While we are seeing sleepwear as outerwear quite a bit, there is the smaller trend of noticing the existence of lingerie outside seeing that the exposure of everything from bralettes to corsets and negligee inspirations all have that sexy edge that allows for the conversion by day. From the likes of Bottega Veneta we saw bralettes appear over dresses with nude qualifications and incognito belts. There are many designers opting for this style, with Missoni also joining in and the beauty of the corset not lost through Prada. Aquilano Rimondi’s looks are very much in tune with this style, while we love the transparencies of Roberto Cavalli with a passion.

#49: Oversized Clothing

Oversized clothing has kept its strong position among the best fashion trends for many seasons already and it doesn’t want to slow down any sooner. The fall 2016 fashion trends bring in an array of oversized clothing, be that loose pants, extra-long sweaters, shirts and cardigans, slouchy coats and jackets that provide comfort and movement. Stella McCartney, Vetements, Acne Studios, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga and Celine are just some of the fashion houses you can look to for oversized fashions.

#50: Extreme Outerwear

This might not have been a common trend at first glance, but once you begin to count, you rather realize that a lot of the coats used were pretty unconventional, and we are not talking about the military garments. Instead we are thinking really out of this world looks, such as the Alexander McQueen duvet inspired quilted look to the evening coat or the Christopher Kane piece where it appears you have walked out in a fluffy bath mat. The looks are outrageous but cozy. The looks are especially fun at Felder, while just giving it more hair than an unshorn sheep.

#51: Big Shoulders

As long as we have the ‘80s among the top fall 2016 fashion trends, the accent is mostly put on big shoulders, be that a coat, a top or a dress. While Marc Jacobs, Delpozo and Narciso Rodriquez show strongly accentuated oversized rounded shoulders in their collections, Jaquemus and Balmain put the focus on big squared shoulders.

#52: Chinoiserie Motifs

Appearing on the fabrics and the cuts, the embroidery and the overall styling, the references to Chinese culture were common enough to be rendered a trend. Chinese collars were only one look that captured our attention. The Chinese prints and influences on the Fendi runway are hard to forget, along with the typical Chinese daily wear in silks and floral prints that came in jumpsuits on the Alberta Ferretti runway.

Gucci’s Chinese-motif dresses were rather divine, complete with a black background and fur-accented sleeves. Add in a bit of glitter and fringe and it became clear that Gucci was not about to let this style go anytime soon. Even transparent dresses such as those spotted at Luisa Beccaria have the Chinoiserie motifs to really highlight the fall/ winter 2016-2017 fashion trends that we should be looking into from now.

#53: Typical and Atypical Turtlenecks

One of the biggest fall 2016 fashion trends seen on the runways, in nearly all collections, is the layering done with turtlenecks. Full coverage seems to be a big thing these days, with everyone from Phillip Lim to DKNY heading down that route. There are zips in some of these sweaters, as well as having them come in dual tones, such as that seen at Lacoste.

Sometimes we were privy to a few different layers of turtlenecks, a look that we noticed greatly when filing through the Damir Koma fashions. Lacy, transparent ruffled turtlenecks appear on the stage at Roksanda, giving us a bit of the Victorian into Renaissance feel that is also a permeating trend for the fall and winter, the ladies given high necks that look and feel less like a turtleneck and more like high fashion.

Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 Fashion Trends: Turtlenecks

#54: Cross Body Fur Stoles

Fur might have its own category on this list, but seeing the cross body fur stoles so many times, we really should point it our separately. It is a love affair that designers seem to have with the look, the asymmetrical draping only adding to the intrigue these offer, along with the luxury of the creations overall. The fur stoles can be worn with just about any look, from the warmer ensembles as per MSGM, Katie Ermilio and Tome, or with sleeveless looks that are meant to present the summer transitioning into winter period, cropped pants and slits up the thighs and all, as per Monse and Diane von Furstenberg.

#55: The Shirt and Tie Look

We know that there is a lot of masculine happening on the runways when it comes to the fall/ winter 2016-2017 fashion trends, but the shirt and tie appear too many times not to get a mention for themselves. From Michael Kors to Ralph Lauren, Thom Browne to Trussardi, we see the lovely displays all the more clearly. We do not always need a tie present as well, with multiple layers of tees, shirts and long sleeved vests become rather enticing once you get the hang of the linger edges to the sweaters put on.
